Festivals Guide
Congratulations, you're going to a festival! Here's sold-out-tickets expert guide to preparing for, and surviving, your festival experience:
- Bring Wellies
You can't predict the quality of the acts will, but one thing is almost certain: there will be mud at the festival. Even if there isnt, rest assured there will be plenty of things you don't want your canvas-shod feet stepping in. You can forget your tent, your sleeping bag, your food and your friends, but don't forget your wellies. - Clothing
This may come as a shock, but festivals are not sterile environments. Your clothes will probably end up considerably less savoury than they were at the start. As well as the aforementioned wellies, you should bring a complete change of clothes. Also, pack something waterproof, and pack something warm because it will get cold at night. - Only Pack The Essentials
Another festival certainty is that you will have to walk a very long way to get to your campsite and a few days later you will have to walk back. If you pack unnecessary items then you probably won't survive the journey. The only unavoidable heavy item you should bring is beer. Our recommendations for what to bring are: - WELLIES - see above
- Tent - don't bring a mallet or any other kind of tent decadence; you are not at Guide camp now, soldier
- Sleeping bag
- Loo roll - don't live your life full of regret, bring some loo roll
- Torch - guy ropes prefer the night for their surprise attacks
- Money - cash points will be few-and-far-between
- Wet wipes and deodorant - try to keep the mushroomy smell to a minimum
- Water bottle - unless you enjoy spending the yearly income of a High Court judge on bottles of water from festival sellers, bring your own receptacle
- Don't Bring Anything You Would Be Heartbroken To Lose
Unless you bring your own barbed wire and pack of attack dogs, there is no way to make a tent secure. Don't bring anything valuable.
